Accommodation in the Cheviots

Since February 2010, the Farmhouse at Uswayford has been unoccupied. Nancy left last November, and the new tenants found it was too remote. Therefore, there is no more accommodation is available at Uswayford.

Trows Farm did not start to provide accommodation as was planned in 2009, and is still empty, so there is also no accommodation at Trows Farm.

However, Barrowburn continues to provide Bed & Breakfast halfway between Byrness and Kirk Yetholm.

Following Nancy`s retirment we applied for a Public service vehicle licence and can now legally collect and drop off guests (booking 2 nights) close to the halfway point between Byrness & Kirk Yetholm. This applies to guests booking 2 nights either at Forest View Walkers Accommodation or at The Old Post Office B&B. both in Byrness. The climb up & down to Trows on the south side of the pennine way is kinder on tired legs than the climb up to Cocklawfoot.
